What I found easy about basic map skills is locating how far one thing is from another using a map and ruler. I found this easy because the map could align perfectly with the ruler and I could see how far it was from one place to another. I struggled most with coordinates because i always forgot to check if it was north, east, south or west and would reach the coordinates somewhere else. Basic map skills are necessary because it helps you understand geography by allowing you to understand where you are on a map.
I agree that cordanites are the hardest but for a different reson. I thaught it was hard to remember wich one was longatude or latatude.
ReplyDeleteI do think your point is valid and i do sometimes mix it up as well though. Although even when i do remember i somtimes cant figure it out.
